8. Inching and retract
This is a function for controlling the motor of a wire feeder, which is a component of the arc welding system. It feeds a welding wire in long length or retracts it.
The inching function is for rolling out the wire in a long length by rotating the motor of a wire feeder. The retracting function is for rolling back the wire by rotating the motor of the wire feeder in reverse direction.
The inching and retracting functions can be used to control the length of the wire protruding from the welding torch.
