9. Maintenance of the Gas Spring

 

Please manage the gas spring to keep its pressure at a proper level through periodic maintenance, and replace the gas spring when its pressure drops abnormally within a short period of time when taking into consideration the number of uses.

 

Caution   ü  Nitrogen gas filling is performed under high pressure. So, please comply with the safety regulations of the relevant country. ü  Fill nitrogen gas only. (Never fill any other gas or liquefied nitrogen other than nitrogen gas) ü  Be sure to wear protective glasses when working. ü  Never look into the gas inlet or pressure gauge directly. ü  If parts inside the gas spring are broken, secure safety by ensuring that any part of the human body or main facilities should not be placed in the direction of the operation of the gas spring, and then remove the gas completely. (When the internal parts are broken, they will bounce off at high speed due to the compressive force, causing a safety accident). ü  Be sure to keep the H axis of the robot at 90 degrees (teaching pendant) when disconnecting the gas spring assembly unit. In that posture, the compressive force of the gas spring is minimized, making it possible to carry out the disconnection work (In other postures, the gas compressive force will be high, causing the bolt to bounce off at high speed during the disconnection process, resulting in a safety accident). ü  For safety considerations and preservation of product performance, the internal parts of the gas spring should be disassembled and assembled only by using designated standard working tools and equipment, with appropriate training for and understanding of the product. Please contact us for related inquiries. ü  Incorrect operation of / mistakes in using the measuring devices during gas pressure measurement may cause the gas pressure to drop. Please comply with the “9.1. Checking the gas spring pressure.” ü  Before checking the gas spring, be sure to check whether the controller and external powers are in the 『OFF』 state. Also, take measures to prevent the controller and external powers from being turned 『ON』 accidentally by other people. ü  Replace the bearings also when replacing old gas springs. Inject grease regularly into the bearing part of the gas spring. (Every 6 months. Every 3 months under severe conditions) ü  Include the specification of the nitrogen gas bottle connection screw when purchasing gas injection parts.
