9. Maintenance of Gas Spring
Maintain the gas spring to have the appropriate pressure through regular maintenance. Replace the gas spring when an abnormal pressure loss occurs in a short period of time compared to the number of use.
Cautions
ü Follow the safety regulations of corresponding countries because nitrogen gas charging is high pressure. ü Charge nitrogen gas only. (Do not charge gasses other than nitrogen and liquid nitrogen.) ü Wear safety glasses during work. ü Do not look into the gas inlet and pressure gauge directly. ü When a part inside the gas spring is damaged, do not allow any part of your body or a main facility to be positioned toward the operating direction of the gas spring to ensure safety, and remove the gas completely. (When an internal part is damaged, the part will be ejected at high speed because of compression force, leading to an accident.) ü The separation of the gas spring assembly unit must be carried out by keeping the H axis of the robot at 90 degrees (teaching pendant). In that posture, the gas spring can be separated while keeping its compression force at a minimum level.(In other postures, the gas compression force will be high, which will cause the spring to be ejected at high speed while being separated, leading to an accident.) ü Separation and assembly of the internal parts of the gas spring can be done by using the designated standard working tools and equipment while a user receives a proper training and fully understands the products to consider safety and preserve the quality of the products. Contact us for questions with regard to this. ü Follow “9.1. Check the Pressure of Gas Spring” because false operation or mistake can cause gas pressure loss during the measurement of gas pressure. ü Before checking the gas spring, make sure that the controller and the external power are turned “OFF”. In addition, take precautions so that any other person cannot turn the controller or the external power “ON” accidentally. ü When replacing an old gas spring, replace the bearing as well. ü Regularly inject grease inside the gas spring bearing. (Every 6 months, or every 3 months in severe conditions) |
